Painting: Passport to Fun - 2009 SDP Conference in Peoria Now is the time to be thinking of attending the SDP Annual conference in Peoria June 16-20 in 2009. Conference is a lot of fun, you can take some great classes, meet many painting friends, participate in or attend the Chapter Marketplace where chapters sell all kinds of things, attend the annual meeting, vote for your new officers, watch members receive their certifications & awards, attend the annual banquet where various chapters have painted the centerpieces and favors, in short just have one great week of fun and painting. Your own 2008 President will be installed as the new SDP President for 2008-2009 at the banquet.

"WILD ABOUT PAINTING" - The theme of this year's conference in Anaheim. Just think of all those Wild Women Painters! The conference was held from May 29-June 2, 2007. The Chapter Marketplace and Opening Party:

Besides classes, the Annual Meeting starts off the week. At the meeting the SDP Officers are elected, members who passed, receive their MDA, CDA & TDA certifications, awards are presented, and business conducted. This is truly where you become part of the organization.
Nancy Genetti was presented the outstanding Chapter Service award at the annual meeting. This award is given to one recipient each year for their dedicated work with chapters.
The Chapters Gathering is a place to learn and network with other chapter members from around the world.

The new Chapter Marketplace was a big success. Any chapter could rent a table and sell items. They items ranged from fans, cookbooks, ornaments, shirts to clip board stands for your patterns.

The Banquet completes the week of fun:
Barb Watson & Connie Parkinson Installation of SDP Officers Were Painting Fairies and handed Door Prizes.
Each person staying in the room block Having fun at the banquet received a cowboy hat and scarf to paint & decorate. A parade of hats was held at the banquet.
Centerpieces for all the tables were painted by Chapters or individual members. They were wonderful. One of these could be Bluebonnet's table next year!
