We had our chapter Board Meeting yesterday. Lots of fun things coming up fast! Of course the national Society of Decorative Painters Conference is coming up in May. Backpacks were gathered at our Board Meeting and will be taken to the Conference by Diana Pfau.
Planning for the chapter's Christmas Party is already underway. Details will be posted under the "Members Only" tab above as they become available. We are planning a "Get Your Sparkle On" shirt competition and more information will be provided at our next meeting.
We have some really fun workshops and FUNdraisers coming up - and of course are very thrilled about the upcoming Seminar. See the Schedule tab above for more information. Be there or be square!
By the way - in case you didn't know - FUNdraisers are open to non-chapter folks. If you have friends interested in painting, these are a great way to not only enjoy a concentrated painting time but also to get to know our chapter. Seminars are open to non-chapter members BUT all attendees must be members of the Society of Decorative Painters.
Hope to see you at the April FUNdraiser! There are still spaces available!

The March 2019 Workshop and General Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 14th. Bonnie Riley will be teaching a really fun Santa box. If you have any questions about the project, you can reach out to Bonnie directly at email@example.com.
We encourage you to attend the workshop and meeting. Even if you do not want to complete the workshop, bring along one of your own projects, or repurpose the planned project to something you enjoy! The workshop is a great time to get to know other members of the chapter as well as picking up tips and techniques for your own painting pleasure.
Please see the March 2019 newsletter for the workshop instructions and supply list. Information on the schedule for General Meeting days is available on the Schedule page.
We look forward to seeing you at the March meeting.

January weather kept us from holding our January 3rd Transitional Board Meeting, but February 14th should be a bit more accommodating. Of course, you never know about Texas weather! We had 70 degrees yesterday and today we have wind chills in some places that are below freezing!
The February 14th Board Meeting is making up the Transitional Board Meeting that was weather-delayed. In addition, we will be covering the budget. Since these two items will run the meeting a bit long, we will not have a Paint In afterwards. We look forward to seeing everyone at the March General Meeting/Workshop.
At the March General Meeting, we will hand out the youth backpacks for the Society of Decorative Painting initiative. Decorated backpacks from chapters across the nation will be delivered to the SDP Conference in Wichita, Kansas and ultimately distributed to children facing relocation due to a family crisis. Information on when backpacks must be completed and returned will be handed out at the General Meeting.
It's 2019 - and what an exciting year ahead for the Bluebonnet Chapter! We have a new board (see the updates under Chapter Information. We have a great slate of classes lined out that includes acrylic, watercolor, a new fabric dye, chalk, and more! We are thrilled to have a seminar coming in July (25 & 26 - mark your calendar!) with Sandy McTeir. As the year progresses, we will highlight upcoming events here in the blog. We will also post a number of articles about decorative painting, creativity, and special posts from members. If you are not a member, we hope that you will consider becoming one soon. Membership information is located under Chapter Information.
Happy New Year!
